The need for anchoring is never greater than during times of turmoil and unpredictability. For nonprofits, these conditions are becoming the norm. The key to maintaining relevance, impact, and sustainability is knowing the right questions to ask and when to ask them. Building on the concepts introduced in his first book (Strategy From the Inside-Out: A Nonprofit’s Guide to Meaningful Strategy), Stone has brought forth a framework for developing strategy that is responsive to the developmental stage of the nonprofit.
Mike Stone launched his consulting practice in 2005 after spending his early career in higher education. In addition to serving over 150 clients, he has written and taught numerous undergraduate courses in nonprofit management. Mike holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Louisville and a Ph.D. in higher, adult and lifelong education from Michigan State University. His areas of expertise include strategy development, board governance, conflict mediation and developmental evaluation.
