Hardiness is a trait that plays a pivotal role in determining how individuals cope with and respond to stressors. Research suggests that individuals with high levels of hardiness tend to experience lower levels of stress-related illnesses and exhibit better overall mental and physical health.

Hardiness has three major factors: Challenge (seeing challenges as opportunities), Control (feeling like you can make an impact on the situation), and Commitment (motivation to succeed in the face of adversity). Even if we’re not naturally strong in those areas, we can grow our hardiness skills. Being able to engage our hardiness expands our overall well-being and overall satisfaction with our lives.

In this episode’s listener question, we’re asked how a Senior Human Resources Associate might move into an HR technology role. In the news, 63% of Americans are overwhelmed by tipping requests, and 2/3 would do away with tipping altogether.
