In episode 148 of “The JoyPowered® Workspace Podcast,” JoDee and Susan discuss keeping great teams intact.
Keeping great teams intact may be more difficult now than ever before due to high turnover, increased remote and hybrid teams, and fewer people in the workforce. We use a few of our past podcast episodes as a jumping off point to talk about strategies for building and maintaining strong teams.
First, our hosts discuss Patrick Lencioni’s “The Five Dysfunctions of a Team.” In the book, Lencioni explains that the five behaviors of a cohesive team are trust, productive conflict, commitment, accountability, and collective results. These behaviors can help you avoid wasting time and energy on politics, confusion, and destructive conflict. In working through this model, teams can learn how to function better and achieve their goals.
Next, we highlight “The JoyPowered® Team.” Some of the suggestions JoDee, Susan, and the other authors of this book made were to make sure you have the right people on your team, set expectations, communicate, recognize and reward your team members, create a diverse team, and understand one another’s strengths.
In this episode’s listener mail, a listener asks about handling work-related anxiety. In the news, Google recently launched an artificial intelligence powered preparation tool that assists job seekers with practicing for interviews.
