How Assessments Can Help You Find Joy

You can’t get where you’re going unless you know where you are.

If you’re looking for more joy in your work life but not sure how to find it, taking an assessment might help. Assessments can give us a deeper understanding of ourselves and how we can use that knowledge to improve the way we work.

There are tons of assessments out there that can assist you in creating the right environment and career for you. The following are some of our favorites.

The JoyPowered® Networking Assessment

Of course, we have to start with a plug for ourselves! In this free assessment inspired by our book JoyPowered® Networking, you’ll answer 10 short multiple-choice questions about your networking habits. Then, you’ll get an email telling you how you scored and giving you some tips on how you might take your networking strategy to the next level.

Taking the JoyPowered® networking assessment can help you determine whether you’re networking in the most effective way and help you set some goals to do networking better.

CliftonStrengths®

CliftonStrengths® is in many ways the backbone of the JoyPowered® philosophy. It encourages people to pursue excellence by focusing on their strengths, not their weaknesses. After taking the hour-long assessment, you’ll receive a report detailing your top five strengths. how they show up, and how you can apply them.

Knowing this information about yourself can help you identify what energizes you or drains you (and why). Then, you can create strategies to use those strengths to make your work more effective and joyful.

The Hardiness Resilience Gauge

The Hardiness Resilience Gauge gives you insight into your ability to cope with stressful and unexpected situations. Having high hardiness doesn’t mean you won’t get stressed, but people who are higher in hardiness are less likely to experience the negative effects of stress on health and performance.

Taking the Hardiness Resilience Gauge and working with a certified facilitator can help you build those hardiness skills. Then, you’ll be less likely to suffer from burnout and be more resilient to change.

These are just a few of the many assessments that can help you get to know yourself better and set a direction for a more joy-filled career. Have you taken another assessment that helped you find joy? We’d love to hear about it! Share it in the comments.
